Turning your Prospect into a Prosperous New Dealer!
Before we can make our new
prospect a prosperous new dealer, we must consider what a prosperous new
dealer is. We, of course, want every person who starts to see the big
picture and go on a recruiting mission. The fact is, and we need to
accept this early on, that each person will seek his or her own level of
success that they desire and are willing to work for. If a person
comes into your business, gets started with the product or service, but
never does another thing, they have achieved their goal for their business.
That is NOT failure. You have a new friend, and a business associate
who loves the product/service, and is better off from the association.
You can continue to grow your business through this person if you learn to
get referrals.
For just a moment, let's go
back to Steve and his fine restaurant enterprise. What does he do when
someone turns in a 2-week notice? Steve puts an ad in the paper and
replaces them immediately! It is not failure that the person doesn't
work until retirement in that restaurant. They benefited from the
position and moved on. It was a success. We need to have this
kind of attitude with our MLM businesses.
Knowing that everyone is not
going to have the same goals and dreams that you have, we do want to find
those who are serious about their business and focus our attention on
helping them get pointed in the right direction. Do this by asking
questions, listening to them and finding out what they want form their
business.
Next we must train them for
their chosen role. Obviously it is not going to take long to train
someone to be a casual dealer, so don't spend a lot of time doing it.
Provide the training for your casual dealers in group settings, if possible.
Surely your company provides tapes, DVDs, brochures and possibly satellite
TV. Use the tools provided by your company. For those who have a
big goal, you must invest time in them and their businesses. You want
to protect them from disappointment, but you also want to prepare them to
take on the leadership role. This process is not done in a two hour
training session. Understanding that you will need to focus your
energy and time on your most committed people, there are still several
things you should do for each and every dealer that comes into your
organization. You should train everyone to do these simple things to
grow their business.
-
Set your goals & share your
goals. When others see your goals and plan of action, it helps
them to do the same thing. It is a vital part of the process. We
must guide people and push them to develop their own goals and plan of
action.
-
Action Overcomes Fear! The
moment someone fills out a dealer application, help them to think of 25
people RIGHT THEN that they can contact immediately. Get a copy of the
list, and together, help that person to contact those people and share the
opportunity or products. Remember - Action Overcomes Fear! If
you prepare them with what to say and are there to support them during the
process, they will not fall victim to fear or call reluctance. A
dealer is usually the most excited on the first day, so take advantage of
the excitement and create some momentum.
-
Commit to the Company:
Lead your new dealer to become totally committed to the products/services
your company provides. If you company makes it or sells it, they've
got to have it. How can they promote something they don't personally
use? They can't. They must become a "believer"!
-
Begin Self Enrichment &
Education Process: INSIST that your new dealer take time to start
a self enrichment and education process. Lay out a daily plan.
Read books, listen to training CDs watch the DVDs that will help them grow
in their understanding and faith about MLM, their company, the
products and THEMSELVES! It is all about faith, and
there must be faith and commitment in all of the for areas listed or there
will be no success. But with FAITH, all things are possible.
